Firefox stürzt zuverlässig bei Videos ab

yoshimo

Was mir seit kurzem auf die Nerven geht ist das mein braver Fuchs angefangen hat zuverlässig beim Start von Videos sich aufzuhängen.
Netflix und Youtube und andere Seiten sind gleichermaßen betroffen.
Erst hatte ich den Grafiktreiber im Verdacht und hab sowohl den nochmal aktualisiert als auch die Option für die Hardwarebeschleunigung deaktiviert, aber ich muss weiterhin bewegte Bilder im Zweitbrowser schauen.

Das passt dann aber nicht zu deiner vorhandenen Version 57.0a1.

Und z.B. diese Erweiterung Add-on Compatibility Reporter dürfte gar nicht mehr aktiviert sein, weil nicht kompatibel mit Fx 57.

Das es nicht ganz das Neueste ist, war Absicht bis die Addon-Entwickler nachgezogen haben mit der Umstellung auf Webextensions.
Es hat auch bis vor kurzem tadellos funktioniert auch wenn die Version ein paar Monate alt ist.

Es ist für uns Helfer aber mehr als müßig sich noch Gedanken über eine alte Firefox Version zu machen.

Ist dir die Sicherheit für deinen PC wegen einiger Erweiterungen tatsächlich so egal?

Du wirst für alte Erweiterungen keinen kompletten Webextension-Ersatz finden, denn nicht jeder Entwickler wird das umsetzen bzw. wird es aus technischen Gründen überhaupt nicht umsetzbar sein.

Du solltest dich gezielt nach Ersatz umsehen.

Teste doch einfach die Release-Version mit einem neuen Profil.

Und bevor du hier wild Bugzilla Tickets um dich herumwirfst wären die entsprechenden Absturzberichte (about:crashes) mal hilfreich.

Wenn du das Update gemacht hast (ob jetzt auf die aktuelle Firefox ESR, Beta, Stable oder Nightly ist egal), teste es erneut und berichte dann hier bitte.
