sobald ich im Firefox 2.0 unter Ubuntu 6.10 bestimmte Seiten (z.B. http://www.heute.de, http://www.spiegel.de) aufrufe beendet sich der Browser von selbst.
Hatte schonmal nach Beiträgen im Forum gesucht. Lediglich ein Hinweis zur Aktualisierung der Java Runtime hab ich gefunden. Hab die Neuste installiert - ohne Erfolg!
Mit dem Firefox 2.0 von Mozilla.org oder ausden Ubuntu-Quellen?
Hast du irgendwelche Erweiterungen installiert? Tritt das Beenden auch mit einem neuen, leeren Profil auf?
Der Fehler tritt auch mit einem frischen Profil auf. Installiert habe ich den FF von den Ubuntu-Quellen. Auch eine Neuinstallation hat nichts gebracht. Addons habe ich keine installiert.
Auf der Konsole wird aber folgende Meldung ausgegeben:

Nicht das mir die Fehlermeldung was sagen würde, aber vielleicht ist es auch wieder das 16 Bit-Problem, da deine beiden Beispielseiten eine Flashanimation enthalten.
Probiere mal den X-Server neu zu konfigurieren wie ich es in diesem Thread:

beschrieben habe.
